All companies listed with BBo$$ offer a banner, text links, storefronts or
individual products for you to display on your site, in a variety of sizes and
choices, to allow for the perfect fit in your web site.
It's the big guy getting all sorts of little guys to show their banners, items,
offers, etc. on the little guys web site to get the big guy more exposure on the
web without paying for individual advertisement.
The little guy is looking to add content and recognized names to the flood of
sites that are battling for the internet visitor. In compensation for
leaving the little guys site, the big guys will pay a 10-50% commission for
your visitor that become their buyers!
How Do Affiliate Programs work?
When a visitor comes to your site, they have not only your items, but names
they recognize from your affiliate companies. When the customer
clicks the banner, they are transported to that company's web site. If
they purchase something while there, then you receive a commission from the
sell, usually 10-50% of the sell price.
Some companies offer a product list as well, and this allows you to sell their
merchandise on your web site, and receive a commission from the sell.
This allows for great content and flexibility for you may promote items that
you have used and approved. And when used correctly, can equal up to big
profits for you and your affiliates!
The BBo$$ Offer
With the BBo$$ offer, we use only the banners from the companies you decide you
want to promote.
If you wish to promote a company not listed by BBo$$, we will inquire as to
whether or not they have an affiliate program available. If they do,
then BBo$$ will apply for affiliate status, and once approved add the banners
to your site.
Additional Details
Most affiliate programs require that your site be completed before they
consider application to their program. Others require you own your
domain name (website name) and/or not use secondary servers, like Homestead,
or geocities.
Some companies require a certain volume of visitor to your site before they
approve your application to their affiliate program.
Others, like Martha Stewart.com approves all applications, but require a
certain number of purchases within 3 months of approval, to continue with
their program.
Other companies use their own affiliate program, and must be individually
applied to. These usually have the most requirements before approval.
Things to Remember
Remember, this is an ever changing landscape on the world wide web, and many
companies have failed in their online ventures. So affiliating with others
is often a risky business.
As much as they are inspecting your site when you apply to their affiliate
program, you should also be inspecting theirs! Check out their site,
shipping procedures, handling guideline when ordering, whether they have secure
order form, and payment options, etc...
They were at your site first, so you want to ensure a certain amount of
integrity to where ever you send them to from your site.
Try to affiliate with those companies that offer the greatest content for your
specific needs. Say you have a camping site. You will want to
affiliate with Brigade Quartermaster who sells outdoor equipment and military
surplus gear. This adds the "content" to compliment your site.
The BBo$$
Options
If you wish to show banners or products on your site, you need to put this on
the BBo$$ application by picking the companies from our list and we will enroll
your site within our primary account, allowing instant access to that company's
links.
All profits from your banners or products will go to
Total Control Distributorships
until your site has been approved and your bill paid. At that time, we
will release your site, and you may apply on your own to any companies you
wish, and then copy and paste the codes you pick. However, till such is
done, the present links will be invalid, until replaced with your new codes.
When on your own...
When using an affiliate server like LINKSHARE, BeFree, and Commission Junction,
it is the server that you make the contract with, and their operating guidelines
you approve of, not the individual company. Then, once enrolled with the
server, you can apply to all companies that server promotes.
Each company has it's own guidelines and may option to view your site before
they approve. Others automatically approve you application, and allow
linking at that time.
It is also the affiliate server's responsibility to pay the individual sites
they enroll, when an affiliate company reports a sell to the server. You
can pick what amount you want the server to accumulate before they cut you a
check, usually a minimum of $25.00.
You will want to keep updated on new promotions and offers, as well as,
changing your site's content periodically so that a frequent visitor is not
faced with the same banners all the time. And if you shop the net,
definitely affiliate with those you buy from! This way you get the
commission as well as the product!
